Radiation resistant wires for NPP designed by AXON France or Kablework Belgium among others utilize PEEK (Neutrax) TPU and/or Polyimide to fabricate the cables possessing desired radiation resistant cables able to withstand high radiation. At the very outset it is important to know that these products are banned for import and can't be processed by cable manufacturers in Pakistan due to specialized equipment required for their extrusion/coating on conductor.
Knowing that even in distant future these products will not be produced locally, nor will their processing will be possible locally and companies from abroad will not supply these products at any cost, production of indigenous radiation resistant wires was envisaged as the only solution to keep plants running.
A concerted effort and serendipity has led us to produce material locally resulting from processing/blending heterogenous polymers and additives. Since all or most materials are imported, it is imperative that we fabricate the desired cables as early as possible because a ban on these materials may be round the corner.
