INTRODUCTION
In view of general concern, regarding behavior of cables for prolonged periods, at temperatures, above their operational temperature (i.e. 150° C), it is considered imperative to conduct these tests , for assessing shelf life of the cable. This will be valid, for ordinary wires exposed to temperatures above there operational temperatures. Since, these cables produced by ASAS Cables are flame resistance cables stable even on exposure to 950 C; these tests of exposing to 150 C don’t are hardly needed . Remarkable maintenance, circuit integrity of these wires and other superior characteristics are outlined next and amply speak about their performance under super harsh conditions:
IEC 60332 Part-1
Test on Electric Cables Under Fire conditions
BS 6387 Category C, W & Z
Specifications for performance requirements for cables required to maintain circuit integrity under fire conditions.
IEC 61034-2, BS 7622, BS 7846
Measurement of Smoke Density of Electric Cables Burning under Defined Conditions
IEC 60754 Part-1 & 2, BS 6425
Test on Gasses Evolved during Combustion of Electric Cables
ASTM-D2863, BS2863
Test on Determining Percentage of Oxygen Concentration Required to Burn Plastic
